Elf Cream Contour Palette Review and Swatches

e.l.f. cosmetics

Elf came out with this cream contour palette few months back. They already have powder contour and highlight palette which looks the same as this cream one. A lot of other brands are now coming up with different cream contour and highlight palettes. I think Anastasia Beverly Hills first came up with the cream contour and highlight palette first and many brands then followed. This palette has four shades and it retails for $6 only.

Elf cream contour palette has four shades; three bronzers for contouring and one yellow highlight shade. These shade do not have any names. All the contour shades are not very warm which is ideal for contouring. Depending of your skin tone you can choose one of these contour shades, for my NC 25 skin tone I like the first shade in second row which has gray undertones. I feel this palette is not ideal for darker skin tones as the highlight shade is too light for them.

All the shades are really creamy and they easily glide on to the skin smoothly. This also make these shades blend effortless. Unlike many other cream contour products this palette is not at all drying rather it is very creamy and easy to use.

All the shades are moderately pigmented which is great because you do not want harsh patches of pigmented contour on your face. Since these are really creamy and easy to blend, they can easily wiped off, so while blending you need to be careful not to erase the product.

The only issue I faced was with the yellow shade, when I applied it after my concealer under my eyes, it settled in my fine line immediately. So it is better avoid it on the areas with fine lines. It also makes it very necessary to set these with powder, you can set it translucent powder or powder contour and highlight shades.

I really like this e.l.f cream contour palette and would suggest it if you are looking for a good cream contour palette at affordable price.
