2016 begin with hell lot of new color correcting products. In this post I will be sharing the latest color correcting products launched. Although I plan to do a separate detailed post about color correcting technique, I’ll just briefly tell you guys what color correcting.
Just like we mix two or more colors to create a new color similarly for face color correction we use a color to balance out any discoloration of the skin. Different colors like orange, yellow, purple and pink are used for different purposes.
Now let’s look at few of the recently launched color correcting products.
Becca came out with four new shades of color corrector few weeks ago. Peach, Papaya, Pistachio and violet are the names of these corrector which pretty much explains the shades they have. They come in little pot packaging and claims to be A highly pigmented color corrector infused with light-reflecting pearls.
This Correct and Perfect Palette by Stila Cosmetics has 7 shades for color correcting . Unlike other color correcting palettes, this palette has two powder shades as well. The cream shades have sheer to medium coverage. Cream shades are: Peach Cream, Pink Cream, Green Cream, Yellow Cream and Orange Cream. Two Powder shades are Yellow and Lavender. The great thing about this palette is its powders to set the cream correctors. It claims to be an all-in-one color-correcting palette for neutralizing skintone imperfections
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea™ Wipeout Color-Correcting Palette

Smash Box released four new shades of color correcting sticks. These individual sticks cost $23. Four available shades are: Light Peach, Dark Orange, Lavender and Peach. While all other brands are coming up with face color correctors, Kat Von D has come up with a more targeted product which is color correcting eye primers. It would be perfect for all those struggling with dark eye lids like me. Available in five shades: Fair, Light, Medium, Tan and Deep. These also come in stick form.
It claims to be an eye shadow primer that color corrects and primes lids according to skintone, creating a smooth, even base for audacious eye looks.
Benefit has come up with a color correcting kit with five colors. This kit has three palettes with two colors each. The shades in this kit are: Boi-ing Light, Boi-ing Light/Medium, Erase Paste, Eye Bright, Lemon Acid.
This kit claims to be a five-piece, portable, complete color-correcting kit that hides dark circles, disguises discoloration, and brightens eyes.
Good concealing calls for good application tools and for this reason we have this limited edition set by Beauty Blender. Micro Mini Beauty Blenders are great for applying concealer especially on under eye areas. This limited edition set has four micro mini beauty blenders in four different colors. The colors are matching with face color correctors Mint, lavender, Pink and orange.
This set costs $30 and is limited edition. The only difference between the regular micro mini beauty blenders and the ones in this set is the color otherwise they function the same.
With all these new color correcting products and tools, achieving a flawless and perfect base for your makeup is not going to an issue. You have a quiet a few options to choose from according to your needs. If you have a specific issue like dark circles or redness, you can go for one of these sticks or individual corrector rather than the palettes or kits. But if you get a palette it would be more economic and obviously you would have more options. Micro Mini Beauty Blender set on the other hand dose not provide any unique functionality. You can use regular micro mini beauty blender.
